Reception and Year 1 pupils recently came together to celebrate Eid with a joyful and engaging party, marking the end of Ramadan in a meaningful and memorable way.

The children took part in a variety of hands-on activities designed to help them learn about the traditions and significance of Eid. A special area was set up with prayer mats and cultural items, giving pupils the opportunity to explore and discuss how families around the world observe this important occasion.

Creativity was at the heart of the celebration, with pupils enjoying Mehndi pattern decorating, practicing writing in Arabic, and making beautiful lanterns using beads and colourful card. The children also designed thoughtful Eid cards to share with their friends and families.

To reflect the spirit of giving that is central to Eid, the classes played a lively game of pass the parcel, symbolising the joy of giving and receiving gifts. The celebration concluded with everyone sharing popcorn together, representing the importance of community, generosity, and breaking the fast at the end of Ramadan.

It was a wonderful opportunity for pupils to learn about different cultures and traditions in a fun and inclusive environment, and a fantastic time was had by all.
