Whole School Rememberance Assembly
On Monday 11th November, all pupils (except Years 3 and 5 who will be at the Astley Park cenotaph), will take part in a special rememberance assembly led by SLT and our Year 6 History and English subject ambassedors.
Year 3 and 5 Trip to Cenotaph
Our Year 3 and 5 pupils will pay their respects on Rememberance day by visiting Astley Park Cenotaph as they develop their understanding of RESPECT, LEGACY and MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
Anti-Bullying Week
We will be learning about respect and friendships through participating in Natinal Anti-Bullying week whilst revisiting the pupils' understanding of bullying and our anti-bullying policy.
Individual School Photographs
Individual School Photographs will take place on Monday 18th November. Please ensure your child is wearing full school uniform. Further details will be sent out from the school office nearer the time.
Parents Evening
Bookable slots will be sent out via the office with new additional slots to be booked with Mrs Atkins for parents of children will SEN if required.
Volunteers Thank You Event
Thank you for your kindness! To say thank you to all the parents, family members and members of our local community who have volunteered this half term we will be having a special thank you event. We really apprciate the time you give up to allow our trips and community walks to take place as without you, we wouldn't have the staffing ratios for the events to take place! Miss Watson will be in touch with futher details nearer the time. The event will take place on Thursday 25th November at 9am.
Annual Christmas Tree Decorating Assembly
Last year's Christmas tree decorating was a huge success so we will be holding this as an annual event. Children will be invited to make a bauble at home with the winners being invited to hang their bauble on the hall tree with all other baubles being hung on classroom trees. We know we have lots of children who are very creative and invite them to use this PASSION and INTEREST to showcase their artist talent.
Non-Uniform Day for our Christmas Shop
Thursday 5th December will be Non-Unifrom Day for all staff and pupils. We will be asking you to bring a donation in for items to sell in our annual Christmas shop. Mrs Whittam will be sending out more details nearer the time.
Oh yes it is....it's time for Panto season!
Oh yes it is....it is time for all children in every class to get inspired by the world of performing arts and enjoy a festive pantomine. Pupils in Reception to Year 2 will enjoy a pantomine in the school hall with popcorn whilst KS2 pupil will visit Bolton Victoria Hall to experience a real life panto! A donation of just £3 per child is available to be made on Scopay now. The cost of the pantomine, travel and a snack during the interval is being heavly subsidised using the money raised from our school disco and other events. If this event is successful, we hope to make this part of our annual events calender. Please ensure your child is in full school uniform for this event!
My Cooking Showcase
After the success of last half term's 'My Cooking' groups we have chosen new groups of children who would beneift from small group work of life skills, turn-taking, social-skills or nurture to take part in a series of cooking workshops ending with a parent cooking event. If your child is chosen for this group they will be notified by Mrs Atkins and you be invited to this event nearer the time. The event will take place on Monday 9th December at 2pm.
KS2 Christmas Concert
Parents and family members are invited to enjoy our Key Stage 2 Christmas Concert. The event will take place on Wednesday 11th December at 9.30am. All are welcome to enjoy the performances as we get into the festive spirit,
Christmas Shop
Pupils will be invited to bring money into school to purchase an item from our Christmas shop. Items will rnage between 50p and £2.50. The items will then be wrapped for your child to take home and suprsie a loved one with KINDNESS by giving them a Christmas gift.
Year 1 and Year 2 - Dress Rehersal and Community Performance
Pupils in Year 1 and Year 2 will showcase their musical theatre and performing arts skills through their Christmas production. Key Stage 2 and local care homes will be invited to enjoy the performance.
Year 1 and Year 2 Parent Performance
Parents of Year 1 and Year 2 pupils will be invited to watch the KS1 Christmas perfomance on Tuesday 17th December. Times and ticket details will be sent out closer to the time.
Christmas Dinner Day
Christmas lunch will take place on Wednesday 18th December. Children are invited to wear Christmas jumpers and festive headwear.
Reception and Acrons Class Christmas Performance
On Wednesday 18th December our Reception and Acorns class will be inviting parents to take part in their Chrsitmas festivities. The event will start at 2pm and will finsih at 3.15pm.
Christmas Party Day
Our Chirstmas parties will be held on Thursday 19th December. Children can come in their own clothes however we politely remind you to ensure your child wears sensible footwear for running around games.
School closes at 2.10pm
End of term: school will close at 2.10pm for Christmas. After school club will finish at 4.45pm.
