Reception class ended the school year in spectacular style with a Design and Technology project that was full of fun, creativity, and celebration! The children planned and hosted a special party to mark the end of the school year and to celebrate all the children in the class who have their birthdays during the summer holidays.

The project began with the children working together to plan every part of the celebration. They discussed what they would need for the party and made their very own lists of ingredients and instructions for baking delicious birthday cakes. The classroom buzzed with excitement as the pupils used their fine motor skills and creativity to design colourful birthday cards and fabulous party hats for the big day.

With their plans in place, the class got to work transforming their classroom into a party venue and found out how difficult blowing up balloons is! The children took turns mixing ingredients, carefully following their instructions to bake scrumptious cakes, complete with icing and sprinkles, of course!

Finally, the day of the party arrived. With hats on and music playing, the Reception class celebrated in style. They played classic party games like Pass the Parcel and Musical Statues, danced, and enjoyed the tasty cakes they had worked so hard to make.

The project was a wonderful way to end the term, combining learning, creativity, teamwork, and most importantly, lots of fun. Well done, Reception class!
