Year 5 and 6 become historians today! To launch the new learning of ‘Anglo-Saxons’, children completed a range of interactive lessons and activities to fully immerse them into the world of the Anglo Saxons. First they completed an orienteering challenge, following a map of the school grounds to answer a learning retention quiz and order in chronological order historical events. Then, they delved further into history by looking at sources and artefacts from Sutton Hoo and the Bayeux Tapestry. As well as asking enquiry questions, children used ‘hands up, pair up’ to share their information. It was a great day of learning and we definitely have some potential historians in Key Stage 2!
