Our mathematicians in Year 3 have been diving deep into fractions, specifically focusing on finding the whole. Through hands-on exploration with manipulatives, the class discovered that by understanding the value of a single unit or non-unit fraction, they could work out the complete amount. It has been wonderful to see their "lightbulb moments" as they realise that fractions aren't just pieces of a pie, but powerful tools for understanding how numbers fit together!
