Upper KS2 hosted a a parent workshop to showcase some of their learning from this half term. Year 5 performed a song all about Mountains linked to learning in Geography. They rapped facts about how mountains are formed and then used the verse from 'Ain't no Mountain High Enough"!. Year 6 performed an innovated performance of 'Shotgun' by George Ezra, all about Harvest. Parents then joined their child's art lesson. Year 5 have made amazing mountain structures using newspaper, the 3d structures really show the features of different mountains. Year 6 have been exploring batik. As well as creating a Harvest banner, they have created vivid tiger pictures linked to their class novel. Batik involves using how wax to outline a picture and used dye to create beautiful imagery. Through their singing performances and incredible artwork both Year 5 and 6 have shown their growing confidence and self-belief and passions and interests for the arts.
