This week, Year Two set themselves a Challenge to design and make a bow and arrow, as part of our 'Castles' topic from last half term. They searched for the materials outside and then, as a team, decided how to make it and what colour to paint it. The children asked and answered lots of questions as a team to build their bow and arrow, such as: Should we use string for the bow? How could we fix the bow together?
Once the bow and arrow had been made, the children decided that the best one was the one that went the furthest when fired. Well done to Jenson and Elliott whose bow and arrow went the furthest!
After that, the children evaluated their design and made suggestions as to how they could make it better.
