Year 5 have had a really interesting week. On Monday Rif came in to speak to the children about tolerance and what it meant to them. She challenged their views about some difficult subjects but the children responded very well and contributed to the session sensibly.
In RE we have been looking at the Hindu religion. We compared and contrasted it with Christinaity and the other religions we have studied. We looked at the story of Rama and Sita and rewrote it in our own words. Another visitor came and worked with the children. Her name was Krishna and she follows the Hindu faith. She spoke to the children about the traditions and beliefs of the religion. They then got to try on traditional clothing.
All the children enjoyed the sessions and worked well.
