You may remember that a few weeks ago, Year 4 had the opportunity to enter the local competition, What's your story, Chorley? The children had to create an original piece of writing on the theme of their town, Chorley. We are absolutely delighted that two of our pupils, Molly and Thea, had their writing commended and published in a recent edition of the Chorley Guardian newspaper. Well done, girls! Mandy, who orginally visited with Lindsay Hoyle to introduce the competition, came back to present the winners with a lovely gift bag full of goodies from Ebb and Flo bookshop. A big well done also to Samira, Francesca, Ruby, Josef, Kyara, Holly, Zoe and Curtis , who also created some super entries for the competition.
Here are the winning entries:
Chorley
Chorley is the town where I live
It's a wonderful place, with a lot to give.
A market town in the North West,
Compared to the others we are the best.
It has got parks and a hall,
And some fantastic schools,
Shops where you can buy things,
From sausages to tools.
But don't take my word for it,
You'll have to come and see
Everything this Lancashire town has to offer
The one and only Chorley!

What's the story all about Chorley?
Where would you like to go?
Go to Astley Park
To see the lasers in the dark.
Equise stables is fun
Where you can ride in the sun.
Go to KFC for some tea
Yummy popcorn chicken for me.
Yarrow Park's super swings,
Are really cool things
That's where I like to go!
You could try Christmas fireworks in the town
Where you won't frown.
Cheer on the Magpie team
Where goals will make you scream.
Market day is for me
Sweets, owls and lots to see.
Swimming at All Seasons pool
The inflatable is cool!
This is the story about Chorley
Now you know where to go!
