Christmas Design Technology Week
(Monday 4th – 8th December)
WWBBA: designing, making and improving a product
SC: Show an understanding of the quality of materials to choose appropriate tools to cut and shape and ensure the product have a high quality finish, using art skills.
Use prototypes to represent the product visually.
Use CAD to represent the product visually.
Use a range of practical baking and cooking techniques.
In groups, the children were set the challenge to explore a range of existing gingerbread houses, design their own, create a prototype and then bake their very own gingerbread houses. During this week a range of D.T. skills have been taught and children have created a finished gingerbread house that was then raffled off to some lucky winners. They looked fantastic and all houses met the design criteria set! An enjoyable and fun week!
